Our mission is to bring the glorious, joyful, and peace-giving light of Jesus Christ to a world darkened by sin, sadness, and fear.
Our goal is to help you find or grow in your relationship with God through Jesus Christ, who is the Light of Life. He guides us through this earthly life to eternal life with him because he came as the Light of the World to die on the cross for our sins and rise again to give us access to God. We desire to bring the Light of Christ to you.
May the Light of Jesus Christ shine on you today!
What can I expect during worship?
Every church has their own style of worship. We encourage you to take your time getting used to our worship practices. Light of Life worship focuses on God's Word - the Bible. Through it we hear from God and our worship is praise and thanksgiving to Him.
Our worship typically includes prayers, songs, admission of sins and pronouncement of forgiveness, Bible readings and a sermon. During some services, our members partake of the Lord's Supper. We (and all congregations of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod) practice what is called "Close Communion". For an explanation of this practice, please contact Pastor John.
Is offering required?
During Light of Life worship we have the opportunity to give our gifts to the Lord. This is one way we show our thankfulness for the gift of heaven he has given us through Jesus Christ. Our offerings also allow us to participate in the work of the church so others may know this good news.
As our guest, you are not expected to give offerings nor should you feel pressured to do so. We invite you to learn more about our church and give as your heart leads you.
What should I wear?
The Bible does not provide a dress code except for simple decency and nethier do we at Light of Life. In worship you will find a variety of dress from casual to more formal. Whatever the style, when the motivation is love for the Lord, the choice of dress is acceptable to the Lord and us.
Are my children welcome in worship?
Jesus encouraged his followers to "let the little children come" to him (Luke 18:16) and we agree that there is no better place than God's house for children. Parents are encouraged to bring children to worship and teach them the joy of praising the Lord in this way. During every service Pastor John sits on the floor and shares a children's devotion with the kids. A quiet area with audio access to the service is provided if it becomes necessary to leave worship with your child at any time.
